{"id":20,"count":0,"description":"[caption id=\"attachment_738\" align=\"alignleft\" width=\"300\"]<\/a> cooking lesson[\/caption]\r\n\r\nThe Vardakeios school<\/strong> organises\u00a0 intensive Greek language courses\u00a0for foreigners combined with afternoon cultural activities.The courses are intended for adults who wish to learn or improve their Greek while wanting to experience the daily life of a Cycladic island that is alive all year round.\r\n\r\nWhy come to Syros<\/strong>\r\n\r\nSyros is an island only 4 hours away from Piraeus ( the main port of Greece) and is situated in the center of Cyclades. From here you have the opportunity to visit other cycladic islands such as Myconos, Naxos and Paros which are only 1 or 2 hours away by boat.\r\n\r\nTeaching methods<\/strong>\r\nThe courses focus on speaking and listening and students communicate through small projects with the locals. Main teaching tools are: communicative games and exercises, role-plays, songs, newspaper articles etc.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_1155\" align=\"alignright\" width=\"300\"]<\/a> In the classroom[\/caption]\r\n\r\nDates of the courses for all levels (A1,A2,B1,B2,C1)<\/strong>\r\nMon 14\/4 \u2013 Fri 25\/4\r\nMon 12\/5 - Fri 23\/5\r\nMon 26\/5 \u2013 Fri 6\/6\r\nMon 30\/6 \u2013 Fri 11\/7\r\nMon 21\/7 \u2013 Fri 1\/8\r\nMon 4\/8 \u2013 Fri16\/8\r\nMon 19\/8 \u2013 Fri 30\/8\r\nMon 1\/9 \u2013 Fri 12\/9\r\nMon 16\/9 \u2013 Fri 27\/9\r\nMon 30\/9 \u2013 Fri 11\/10\r\n\r\nThe classes take place in the mornings from 9.30 -14.00. Every teaching hour lasts 60` and there are two breaks of 15` each. Overall the seminar includes 40\u00a0 hours and additionally the school offers evening activities between the hours of 18.00-21.00.\r\n\r\nCultural activities<\/strong>\r\n\r\n* Partcipation in a story telling workshop\r\n\r\n*Daily excursion\/hiking to the North of Syros (Apano Meria)\r\n\r\n*A tour to the medieval village of Ano Syros, \u00a0the historical center of the town where there are many buildings of neoclassical architecture, \u00a0the archeological and industrial museum, the Apollo theatre and the Town Hall\r\n\r\n*Opportunity to attend local festivals of music and art such as:\u00a0concerts (Aegean festival<\/a> , International music festival of Cyclades<\/a>), movie festivals(animation festivals<\/a>),\u00a0painting exhibitions e.t.c.\r\n\r\n*A visit to a factory where the local delicacies, loukoumia, are made\r\n\r\n*Greek \u00a0cookery lesson\r\n\r\nAncient Greek courses<\/strong>\r\n\r\nAfternoon classes of ancient Greek can be offered for those who want to combine ancient and modern Greek. The\u00a0teaching hours will be 1 daily. Total hours:10\r\nThe cost for the ancient Greek lessons is 200<\/strong> euros<\/strong> with the condition that at least 3 students will register.\r\n\r\nFees and meals <\/strong>\r\n\r\nFees\u00a0for all\u00a0courses\u00a0are 500 euro<\/strong> and are given at the\u00a0beginning of the course. In this price are included meals<\/strong> every afternoon at the end of each session. The meals are served at the yard of the school. The kitchen of the school is available for the students for preparing any other meal.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_1153\" align=\"alignleft\" width=\"225\"]<\/a> The yard of the school[\/caption]\r\n\r\nAccommodation<\/strong>\r\n\r\nWe can provide accommodation in a rented room in the center of Ermoupoli for 25 euros (low season) to 30 euros (high season) \/ day for a single room.\r\n\r\nComments<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe\u00a0groups are small\u00a0(4-5 people).
